Here's Tyler running his midget at Manzanita ~ this was only his 2nd day in the car and the very first time on the track at Manzanita Speedway. Speeds are near 100 mph going down the straights! There is a mini sprint and other midgets on the track with him in this video. The car his passing is a non wing mini sprint to give you an idea about the speed. With being on the road most all summer Tyler's racing as been limited to the cars loaded into the trailer before leaving home. As a result, Tyler has not been getting any seat time in his Esslinger~Spike Chassis midget during this summer. Tyler had accumulated over 2500 laps in the midget by last year in September. Tyler hopes to be back in the full midget very soon as it is very fun to drive and actually requires less physical strength to get it around the track than his mini sprints. The midget being equipt with power steering helps the now 80 lbs kid in driving the car on long runs. The same car was also driven by Jerry Coons jr. in the winning effort at the Belleville Nationals in 2005. I don't think the car is done winning yet! As of today, the Esslinger power plant is on it's way to Esslinger for refreshing and will soon be back in action as soon as January 2008. Tyler is looking very forward to getting back in this car. It's way easier for him to handle than that of a mini sprint due to the lower steering effort on him while running.
